The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Western North Carolina has officially adopted part of Reed Creek, beginning at Catawba Street and continuing underneath Broadway and thru the Botanical Gardens to the back entrance to UNCA.
On June 7th of this year, Ohio State Alumni from all over WNC gathered together for its first river clean-up of its newly adopted river.

Over 13 large bags of wasted were collected along with a stove top, bed frame, car seat, and misc other junk items. The event took 2 1/2 hours.
