Quality Forward is helping Downtown After 5 green the event through help with composting, through the Strive Not to Drive bike corral, aaaand through volunteers?? If anyone is able to help this is a late call for volunteers but they need them to get the greening going. If you're able to help please directly contact Sonya (information below)
Downtown After Five goes Green in a big way! Celebrating it’s 20th Anniversary, the Asheville Downtown Association and Event Chair Scott Kenney have taken the annual free live music event Green with a Reduce / Recycle / Compost program using compost-able food service items, a beverage bottle recycling program, plans for Solar power, Organic Cotton tee shirts and a Strive Not to Drive sponsored bike valet this year.
The first event kicks off this Friday, May 16th at 5:00 PM on Lexington Avenue between I-240 and the Hiawassee / Woodfin intersection. Come on out to hear some great free live music, catch up with friends, have an icy cold beverage and enjoy the beautiful life of living in Asheville. Support those who make strides in the efforts of Green and Sustainability!
Those interested in providing much needed help can volunteer by contacting Sonya at dta5volunteers@yahoo.com. Volunteers receive a complimentary Organic Cotton logo tee shirt and 4 complimentary drink coupons for a two hour shift – Great Deal!
